Samara Weaving, who stars as Grace MacCaullay in the Ready or Not horror franchise, has landed the coveted role of Emma Frost. Marvel Studios is rebooting the X-Men with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier at the helm to direct the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). A report reveals that the search for the new faces to join Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey is on, with Weaving being the first to be added. Sink’s character reveal happened in the latest Marvel film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya.

According to a report in Deadline, several actresses auditioned for Emma Frost in early July, but Weaving nailed it. Marvel has not confirmed her casting, but the studio has been tight-lipped about its characters, preferring instead to reveal them in their own way. Other reports suggest that some announcements might be imminent at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026, which takes place from August 14 to 16, 2026.

The Australian actress, who is related to actor Hugo Weaving, began acting on TV shows in her home country. Her first Hollywood roles came in 2016 with the horror films Mayhem and The Babysitter and the Oscar-winning drama film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
