360-Degree Cameras, SBI Seals, Multi-Agency Checks: Ram Temple Trust Unveils New Donation System

The controversy of donation theft at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple has now forced many changes in the donation security in Ayodhya, which has now aim at improve the transparency of the donation process.

This is also aim to get back public’s trust and their donation of the public. The process of donation security has started from 25 July to record every stage of the donation process. Now from removing the collection box from inside the temple to even counting the cash under video surveillance.

New Camera-Based Monitoring System Introduced

The Trust officials have said that now the entire donation process is now recorded with 360-degree cameras and SLR cameras, that too for the clarity of video recording. Now eight members team have been made to check and supervise the operation and make sure every step follows the decided procedure.

The officials also said that the process has been designed like to make sure and improve accountability, strength the credibility of the donation management system. That will make the audits easier for future reference. The continuous recording is also expected to help and resolve the complaints in future regarding any donation complaint.

Revised Process for Opening Donation Boxes

The trust has changed the way of opening donation boxes, earlier multiple boxes used to open together but from now 40 donation boxes will open separately. While two videographers will record the opening process. When the counting of cash will be counted, the State Bank of India officials will seal the donation box inside the counting room itself, to give more layer of security.

The every counting process will be attended by two bank personnel, two representative and two security personal, while two videographers will record the process.

The new process was designed after the theft in donation of Ram Temple came to light which forced to make Special Investigation Team (SIT). The Police have also arrested many accused in the case, and the investigation is still going on.

The investigators also investigating financial records of Saundarya Construction and Suppliers, a company registered on the name of key accused Ram Shankar ‘Tinnu’ Yadav’s wife Poonam Devi. The investigating officer Ashutosh Tiwari has asked the details from State tax department to check whether the company has any connection with donation theft.
