Stuart Fails To Save The Universe: Original The Big Bang Theory Star Has Surprising Cameo In New Episode

The newest The Big Bang Theory spinoff Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is keeping fans invested by bringing actors from the original series week by week. The first episode of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe had a cameo by Kunal Nayyar as Raj Koothrappali, but in the second episode, four actors from the main series returned, including one member of the core gang. Kaley Cuoco’s Penny had a welcome return as Penny, along with a number of side characters. The spinoff revolves around Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman), who is tasked with saving the world along with his friend Bert (Brian Posehn), former girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus) and frenemy Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie).

Warning: Spoilers Ahead! The second episode of the HBO show is titled ‘Zack’s in this one’. Stuart, Bert and Barry find themselves in an idealised utopia, except for one big problem. In this universe, the AI overloads have taken over. Each human has a button on their necks that emits shocks to subdue any strong emotions like anger or frustration.

As Bert and Barry try to find Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) on the Caltech campus, they run into Ramona Nowitzki (Riki Lindhome), who is the receptionist and refuses to give them an appointment to meet the physicists. Of course, OG fans will remember Ramona as the former graduate student who wanted to steal Sheldon away from Amy.

The next cameo belongs to actress Christine Baranski, who played Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, Leonard’s mother in the original series. However, in this spinoff, Baranski is playing herself as she voices a PSA disguised as propaganda films to brainwash prisoners at the AI re-education camp.

And last but not least, a cool and confident  returns as a brunette in this alternate universe. She is running the resistance along with her second-in-command Zack (Brian Thomas Smith). Fans will recall that Zack is Penny’s ex in The Big Bang Theory universe. She and the resistance capture Stuart and his friends and try to slap the emotions out of them. The resistance wants help to overtake the AI overlords, and things really don’t go to plan as Stuart, Bert, Barry and Denise manage to escape an ambush. The series hits reset as they arrive in another universe. At least, Penny is still   in this universe.

Created by Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Zak Penn, the   follows comic book store owner Stuart, who tries to fix his mistake after accidentally damaging a device that Sheldon, Leonard Hofstadter and Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) had created. The 10-part series will end on September 25, 2026 on JioHotstar.
