Jagran Correspondent, Khagaria: The arrest of YouTuber Mohammad Zafar Ali with a large number of live cartridges has created a stir in Bihar’s Khagaria.
Police are verifying the leads obtained during his interrogation as the investigation continues. Local residents claimed that Ali had allegedly been using his identity as a YouTuber as a cover for illegal activities for a long time.
Police Form Special Team After Intelligence Input
According to Jagran.com report, acting on a tip-off, a team was formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhanu Pratap Singh. The team included Gangaur OP Station House Officer Shyamsunder Paswan, Sub-Inspector SM Akhtar, the District Intelligence Unit (DIU), and the Special Task Force (STF).
During an operation near Dadhi Mor on the Khagaria-Bakhri road, the team arrested Rahul Kumar. Police recovered a motorcycle, 29 live cartridges, and Rs 95,200 in cash from his possession. During questioning, Rahul admitted that he was involved in the illegal sale of cartridges along with a person from Jalkoura. Rahul is a resident of Jangli Mandal Tola.
Zafar Ali Arrested
Based on the information gathered, police raided the house of Zafar Ali in Jalkoura and arrested him. A total of 115 live cartridges were recovered from his house. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, SP Bhanu Pratap Singh said the police had been receiving intelligence inputs for some time, following which a special team was formed.
He said preliminary investigation revealed that the two accused allegedly procured bullets from another district and supplied them at higher prices to criminals in Khagaria and nearby areas. Mobile phones recovered from both accused have been seized and are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
