Ramayana Trailer Out: The much-awaited Ramayana trailer dropped at 4:15 AM today, coinciding with the sacred Brahma Muhurat, after months of anticipation and several delays.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the two-part epic is reportedly mounted on a massive combined budget of Rs 4,000 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.
The Ramayana trailer opened with Ravana entering Lanka and declaring himself its new king. It immediately hinted that the epic will not just focus on Lord Rama’s journey but will also explore Ravana’s backstory. Yash commands attention from his very first scene and leaves a strong impact.
Ramayana trailer left a strong impression on the audience as well.
The Ramayana trailer, mounted on a grand scale, looked visually stunning. Every frame felt rich and cinematic. However, a few fighting sequences with CGI creatures took away from the overall feel.
What Did I Think?
Sai Pallavi’s one glimpse was enough to convince me that she fits the role of Sita. Despite all the debate around her casting, the trailer made a strong case for her. Ravi Dubey also left a good impression in his brief glimpse as Lakshman.
Among the lead cast, Yash stole the show. His screen presence and powerful look make Ravana one of the biggest highlights of the trailer.
Ranbir Kapoor, however, may still have to work harder to leave a lasting impression. Based on the trailer alone, he doesn’t quite stand out yet, even though there is plenty more to look forward to in the movie.
Earlier, the makers hosted an exclusive media event in New Delhi titled Pratham Sankalp, where media got a special first look at the trailer. I was among those present at the screening, and the experience was impressive.
