Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan continues to perform well at the Indian box office despite the usual weekday slowdown. After a strong opening week, the action drama has maintained steady collections across Tamil, Hindi and Telugu versions. With the film now nearing the Rs 150 crore mark in India, it remains one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year.
Jana Nayagan Day 7 Box Office Collection
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan earned an estimated Rs 4.28 crore net in India on its seventh day. This takes the film’s total India net collection to Rs 147.68 crore, while the India gross collection stands at Rs 172.62 crore. The film was screened across 9,047 shows nationwide on Day 7 and recorded an overall occupancy of 15.1%. The final collection figures for the day are still awaited.
Jana Nayagan’s Tamil Version Continues to Lead
The Tamil version remained the film’s biggest strength, collecting an estimated Rs 3.43 crore with an overall occupancy of 21% across 4,093 shows. The Hindi version contributed around Rs 55 lakh from 3,918 shows, recording 9% occupancy, while the Telugu version earned approximately Rs 30 lakh from 1,036 shows, with occupancy touching 15%.
Occupancy Across Major Cities
Tamil Nadu continued to drive the film’s performance. The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 20.08%, improving from 16.62% during the morning shows to 24.38% in the evening. Among key centres, Puducherry registered the highest occupancy at 41.7%, followed by Tiruchirappalli at 36.7% and Chennai at 34%. In the Hindi market, Bengaluru led with 23% occupancy, while Lucknow and Mumbai recorded 11.3% each. For the Telugu version, Warangal posted the highest occupancy at 25.3%, followed by Guntur at 21% and Visakhapatnam at 19.7%.
Film Continues Strong Run
Despite the expected midweek decline, Jana Nayagan has continued to attract audiences, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where footfalls remain strong. With collections holding steady and no major slowdown in its core markets, the Vijay starrer is expected to finish its first week on a high before entering its second weekend. Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in lead roles. Produced by KVN Productions, the action drama features music by Anirudh Ravichander and was released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.
