Shortly after it was reported on July 28 that star Brenda Dickson had been arrested for battery earlier this month, she broke her silence on the allegations and also took to social media with a new post.
Dickson told that she was “falsely arrested,” and did not address her legal issues in an post about her friendship with the late “Well Hello. Missing Dawn Wells Mary Ann from ,” she captioned a throwback photo of the women. “She was a blast to be around. This was her book signing party. What would Marry Ann do? I would say [opposite] of what Jill Abbott would do. Have a great Night. photo by Dan Kennedy. The trial is still going!”
Per TMZ, Dickson was arrested and booked for misdemeanor battery on a person on July 9 and released the same day on her own recognizance. The arrest came after cops were called to a location in Hollywood on July 8 and told Dickson allegedly assaulted someone, according to TMZ. The victim was not named.
Dickson originated the role of Jill Foster Abbott on The Young and the Restless. She portrayed the character from 1973 to 1980, then again from 1983 to 1987. Jill Foster Abbott is the longest-running character in the soap’s history and the only original character remaining. has been portraying her since 1987.

Dickson hasn’t acted since her final episode of The Young and the Restless nearly 40 years ago. In 2025, she created a page, claiming she was homeless after being evicted from her condo.
The actress claimed she was blacklisted from Hollywood and that people connected to the alleged scandal “have made it impossible for me to get divorced in long marriages. Their way of dealing with this is always to make me homeless in the face of multi-million dollar divorces. Whenever I rise to some noticeable standard in the public awareness, up pops the organized crime in my life.”

She said she needed money for an attorney, food, and shelter. “I have always believed in this country, yet the past judges involved in this case have broken every law in the book,” she alleged. “I made millions of dollars by refurbishing property. It’s all been stolen from me.”
