Gravity of the Situation Amid Assam Floods
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) reported that the death toll has climbed to 75 as of Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Seven districts — Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Sonitpur, and Kamrup Metropolitan — remain affected, impacting 622 villages and submerging approximately 45,341.98 hectares of cropland.
