Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the ninth-generation Hilux in India, with prices starting at ₹31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The lifestyle pickup is available in three variants — 4X2 GX AT, 4X4 GX AT and 4X4 VX AT — priced up to ₹36.69 lakh.
Bookings opened on July 28, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second week of August.
Commenting on the launch, Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “The all-new Hilux further strengthens this direction, bringing Toyota’s proven durability, capability, and dependability to customers who seek a vehicle that is both powerful and trusted.”
The new Hilux is based on Toyota’s IMV body-on-frame platform and continues to be offered only in a double-cab body style in India. It features a redesigned exterior and an updated cabin with more technology while retaining its focus on on-road comfort and off-road capability.
New look
The ninth-generation Hilux adopts a more upright front-end with Toyota’s “Cyber Sumo” design theme, featuring a wide grille, sculpted bonnet and slim LED headlamps.

Other exterior highlights include LED fog lamps, daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, a shark-fin antenna and redesigned LED tail lamps.
It is available in six colours — Super White, Platinum Pearl White, Attitude Black, Emotional Red, Sulphur Metallic and Ash — along with a range of genuine accessories for personalisation.
Engine options
The Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine producing 204 PS and 500 Nm, paired exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota has introduced a new rear-wheel-drive (4X2) variant alongside the four-wheel-drive (4X4) versions.
The 4X4 variants come equipped with High (H4) and Low (L4) range, an electronic differential lock and Downhill Assist Control (DAC) to enhance off-road performance. The pickup also gets an 80-litre fuel tank.
Tech cabin
Inside, the Hilux gets a redesigned dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota i-Connect connected car technology, wireless charging, an eight-speaker audio system, voice controls and multiple TFT displays.
Other features include cruise control, PM2.5 air filtration, Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes, soft-touch interior finishes, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, smart storage spaces and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
Safety package
Safety features include seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist (BA), ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic view monitor and Toyota’s Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure.
