Pakistan’s fake football team busted
The group reached Japan wearing a full football kit and claimed that they are associated with the Pakistan Football Federation (PF). He also had the fake ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) released by the Ministry of External Affairs. In fact, this team was said to be a fictional club called ‘Golden Football Trial’, which was sent by Malik Wakas, a resident of Pasroor in Sialkot. The purpose of these 22 ‘players’ was to participate in a football tournament to be held in Japan, but all this proved to be a part of a pre -fixed fraud.
Not only this, accused Malik Wakas had recovered 40-40 lakh Pakistani rupees from every person for his journey. This was not his first attempt. In January 2024, he sent 17 people to Japan, where fake documents and Japanese club ‘Bovista FC’ were sent through fake invitation letters. This time also the same strategy was adopted, but the vigilance of Japanese officials turned water to the conspiracy.
FIA took big action
This fake team had left for Japan from Sialkot Airport using these documents. After the matter was exposed, all 22 people were sent back to Pakistan, after which they were arrested by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Pakistan’s investigating agency FIA called it a big case of human trafficking. According to reports, FIA’s Composite Circle arrested Wakas on 15 September and registered several cases on it. Investigation revealed that it was a large human trafficking network, in which fake sports events were being resorted to.
