Xiaomi confirms new Redmi Note India launch, Note 17 price leaks online

Xiaomi just announced that it is soon launching a new Redmi Note phone in India. This phone—likely the Redmi Note 17—has already launched in China. Xiaomi teasers suggest battery will be one of the key highlights of its next Redmi Note in India. Separately, alleged pricing of the upcoming Redmi Note 17, has leaked online giving us a rough estimate of what to expect from Xiaomi ahead of D-Day.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Redmi Note 17 will be priced at Rs 30,000. The top-end model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage may set you back by Rs 33,000. Since these are rumoured prices, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. Better to wait and watch for what Xiaomi has in store. The brand is yet to announce a proper launch date, too, but since the hype-cycle has begun, it won’t be long before more information is out.

Redmi Note 17 India launch, what to expect

A few days back, tipster Yogesh Brar suggested that the Redmi Note 17 could feature a 7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The tipster also claimed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip with HyperOS 3 software. The phone is expected to use LPDDR4X RAM and UFS2.2 storage.

For photography, the smartphone is said to sport a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. To keep the lights on, it is expected that Note 17 could carry an 8,000mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 17 features a 7.0-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel offers a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The phone runs Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 on top.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset paired with the Adreno 613 GPU. It is available with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 packs a 50-megapixel primary rear camera. On the front, the phone houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The device is backed by a massive 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 45W wired fast charging. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging.
