State Bureau, New Delhi: Amid seasonal fluctuations, light to moderate rain is forecast for Delhi-NCR on Monday. The rain is expected to provide some relief from the prevailing humid conditions.

As per IMD, there will be cloud movement on Monday with light to moderate rain likely. The maximum temperature will remain below 40 degrees. On Monday, Delhi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius. The daytime temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius. Strong surface winds, reaching speeds of 20 to 30 km per hour, are also possible. The weather remained cloudy from morning to evening on Sunday.

The IMD forecasts that the sky may remain cloudy for the next two days. For the past two weeks, the weather has been a mix of sunny and cloudy. There were also 2-3 days of rain in between, which resulted in a drop in temperatures.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 101 at 10 am on Monday, which is considered moderate. The air quality in NCR cities is also in the satisfactory to moderate category.

Two separate low-pressure areas over Rajasthan and the Bay of Bengal have reinvigorated the monsoon. A western disturbance is also active in the mountains. Due to the effect of these three weather systems, rain activity is expected to intensify in the North India states over the next two-three days.
Systems over the Bay of Bengal and Rajasthan are strengthening each other, increasing the supply of moisture to North India and broadening the rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated heavy rain is possible in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
According to IMD, the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and adjacent Odisha coast is steadily strengthening. It will strengthen further by Monday. It is then expected to cross the Odisha and Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar Island.
