Star Plus’ Sairaab has officially found its new male lead following Rohit Chandel’s exit from the show after his arrest in a POCSO case. Ending weeks of speculation, the makers have announced that actor Krishna Kaul will now headline the romantic drama opposite Madirakshi Mundle. The casting announcement comes after reports initially suggested that Aashay Mishra had been finalised for the role. With Krishna Kaul now confirmed as the new lead, the show is set to move forward with its storyline while introducing a fresh on-screen pairing.

The makers of Sairaab have confirmed that Krishna Kaul has joined the Star Plus show as its new male lead opposite Madirakshi Mundle. The announcement comes after weeks of uncertainty surrounding the casting following Rohit Chandel’s exit. Krishna will be seen opposite Madirakshi as the show continues its romantic storyline with a new lead pairing.

Reacting to the announcement, Krishna Kaul said he was excited to become a part of and acknowledged the responsibility of joining a show that had already established a connection with viewers. He said, “I’m genuinely thrilled to be joining the family of Sairaab. The love that audiences have already showered on the show is incredible, and stepping into a story that has connected so beautifully with viewers is both exciting and a huge responsibility.”
The actor also praised his co-star Madirakshi Mundle and said he was looking forward to working with her. Calling her a ‘phenomenal performer,’ he added, “I’m really looking forward to sharing screen space with her. I’ve always believed that every show comes into your life for a reason, and Sairaab feels like the perfect next step in my journey as an actor.” Kaul claimed his character has so many layers, and hat he can’t wait for audiences to witness the chemistry, drama, romance in the show.
Why did Rohit Chandel exit Sairaab?
was arrested by the Pant Nagar Police from his residence on July 10 after a minor girl accused him of stalking, repeatedly contacting her, harassing her and physically assaulting her. Following his arrest, he was produced before a special POCSO court. He was initially remanded to police custody before being sent to judicial custody.

According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that the actor continued contacting her through his personal mobile number as well as other phone numbers despite being repeatedly asked to stop. The complaint further stated that on July 5, Chandel allegedly intercepted the 16-year-old near her residential society, followed her, got into a verbal altercation, abused her and physically assaulted her. Based on the allegations, Rohit Chandel has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with Sections 78 (stalking) and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
