New Delhi: TVS Motor is very popular among Indians for their Apache, their sports bike which comes with a heavy engine and is quite expensive. In 2021, TVS launched their new sports bike Raider 125, focusing on riders who are looking for a bike with sports capabilities, lighter in weight and also budget-friendly.
It’s been four years now since TVS introduced their Raider 125 in India, and from its launch until the end of August 2025, they sold 16,04,355 units, more than 1.60 million units. However, Raider 125 has captured 39 per cent of TVS bikes with total motorcycle sales of 3.53 million units.
TVS Raider 125 sales growth and Rivals
In the last six months of FY2022, TVS sold an average of more than 12,000 Raider 125 units every month, adding up to 76,742 units. Sales jumped 212 per cent year-on-year, crossing just under 2.40 lakh units in the next fiscal. By FY2024, the Raider 125 had become TVS’s top-selling bike, with sales doubling to 4.78 lakh units, over a lakh more than the Apache series. The Raider comes under the sporty 125cc commuter segment, which has to face tough competition from bikes like Hero Xtreme 125R, Bajaj Pulsar N125, and Honda CB125 Hornet.
In FY2025, Raider sales slipped to just under 4 lakh units, down 16 per cent compared to the previous year. The first five months of FY2026 also don’t look strong. Sales are at around 1.30 lakh units, 9 per cent lower than the same period last year. On the other hand, Honda Shine is dominating the market. It sold over 5.71 lakh units between April and July 2025, far ahead of the Raider and others. Still, it’s worth noting that while the Shine is a conventional commuter, the Raider tries to stand out with a sportier, more radical design.
TVS Raider 125 Export sales
In Export, the Raider 125 has been sold overseas with over 2.45 lakh units by the end of August 2025. FY2025 became the best fiscal year for exports, including over 71,000 units and 31 per cent year-on-year.
