Adah Sharma ‘Stands With Students’ Affected By Exam Paper Leaks, Opposes Protestors Shouting Slogans

Adah Sharma has spoken up about the ongoing student protests against exam paper leaks in the country. Talking to Anchor and News Editor Heena Gambhir at the Times Now Sustainability Conclave 2026, Adah made it clear that her heart is with the students and their hard work. However, she also raised concern over certain slogans being raised during the protests, saying she does not agree with that part of it. She added that while she isn’t well-versed in politics, she believes celebrities should share their opinions on relevant issues but only if they are well informed.

Speaking about the paper leak issue, Adah Sharma said, “I stand with the students. I think it starts from a classroom, your journey for the future. I put a post with the students in the classroom. I definitely stand with the students. I mean, you are putting in so much hard work for an exam; your entire aspirations, your entire future is dependent on that, so of course my heart goes out to all the students, all the parents.”

However, when it came to the protest itself, Adah said she was not fully aware of everything happening on the ground. She said, “About the protest, like I said, I do not have entire knowledge. I saw people saying a lot of slogans which I am not one with. Read a lot of things this side and that side. I am not a politician, so I don’t have political knowledge.”

She was also asked whether it’s fair for the public to expect celebrities to comment on such issues. Responding to this, Adah said, “I think it is fair. Because if I am celebrity and I have an opinion on some things and on some things I conveniently do not, people would expect me to have an opinion on those. I don’t think that’s wrong.”

Adah Sharma has been part of Hindi and South Indian cinema for many years. Some of her well-known films include Hasee Toh Phasee, Commando 2, Kshanam, The Kerala Story, Selfiee, and Bastar: The Naxal Story.

Her most recent release was Governor, a financial thriller directed by Chinmay D Mandlekar and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures. The film, inspired by events around the 1991 Indian economic crisis, also featured Manoj Bajpayee and Noushad Mohamed Kunju. It released in theatres on June 12, 2026.
