Mahindra Thar is one of the most affordable off-road SUVs available in India. However, not many Thar buyers consider it for the comfort it offers. But we have recently come across a six-seater Mahindra Thar, offering more comfort while keeping in line with its off-road nature.
Modified Mahindra Thar 5-Door: What’s New
This modification has been shared by Khan Motors Moga on their YouTube channel. The video shows an old Mahindra Thar CRDe 4X4 converted into a 5-door, six-seater version. The length has been extended by an extra 457 mm, making the SUV look longer and more spacious on the inside. Changes on the outside include revamped front and rear bumpers, a metal footrest, a new windshield, a semi-hard top roof, an LED light bar on the top and auxiliary lights at the front. On the sides, the modified Thar CRDe sits on 22-inch tyres with metal footrests for easy ingress and egress.
Interior
Inside, this modified Thar gets an all-black theme with a leather-wrapped roof. The key highlight is the inclusion of a third row of seats for accommodating up to six passengers. But it does compromise the boot space. The second row gets captain seats and ‘sofa seats’ in the third row. The front and second-row captain seats are powered, and second-row passengers also get movable armrests. The powertrain on the model remains the same.
The modifier has also revealed the pricing for this modified Mahindra Thar. It is available for sale for Rs. 12 lakh, which is more affordable than the Mahindra Thar Roxx 4X4 variants. Moreover, if you already have a Thar CRDe, then modifications will cost you around four lakh. However, these modifications can take over four months to install!
Appeal
While doing any type of modification to a vehicle is illegal according to the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988, customers have found loopholes to make them work. Please check with the authorities before attempting any such modifications on your car.
