Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi Debate Reignites After CR7 Named’ Best of All Time’

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been enjoying an epic rivalry for the past couple of decades as the legends battled for football supremacy.

But after being named as the “Best of All Time” at the third edition of the Liga Portugal Awards held in Porto, it seems like Ronaldo has edged out his long-time rival in the GOAT debate once again.

“There are countless adjectives to describe Cristiano Ronaldo,” said a representative from Liga Portugal.

“The Portuguese captain’s career, stats, and titles speak for themselves, a record-breaking career spanning more than two decades as a professional, and one that promises to continue.”

“An inescapable figure in sports and an idol to millions, he defined an era and will leave an indelible mark on world football,” he added.

Liga Portugal explained their decision to honour Ronaldo further. “Recognised for his work ethic, competitiveness, and decisiveness in crucial moments, Cristiano Ronaldo’s impact goes far beyond statistics,” they said.

“Between individual records, collective titles, and media influence, he built a legacy that places him as… The Best Ever.”

As far as the battle between Ronaldo and Messi is concerned, this award once again sparks the discussion between the two, cementing the Portuguese forward’s place among football’s immortals.

Earlier this year, Messi recalled his rivalry with Ronaldo in a rare candid chat and said: “It was a very nice stage for everyone. For the people and for us. We fed off each other because we are both very competitive. He wanted to win everything,” Messi was quoted as saying by Marca.

“It’s very impressive what we did for so long. As they say, it’s easy to get there but difficult to stay there. We stayed at the top for 10 or 15 years. It’s a nice memory for everyone,” he added.
