Idhayam Murali, the recent Kollywood rom-com starring Atharvaa, emerged as a box-office hit. The movie features Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil in a key cameo, but it has now been revealed that director Akash Baskaran initially approached SJ Suryah for the role.
“SJ Suryah sir was the initial choice for Fahadh Faasil sir’s character in Idhayam Murali. But SJ Suryah sir declined, saying that he didn’t want to do cameos. Then I approached Fahadh sir and showed him the business cut of the film. I thought he would decline, but to my surprise, he accepted. He was free only on Sundays, and we shot his portions over four Sundays,” said Akash Baskaran.
Kayadu Lohar and Preity Mukhundhan played the female leads. Natarajan Subramaniam, Niharika NM, music director Thaman, Jonita Gandhi, and others essayed important roles. Thaman also composed the music.
