Lenin has officially entered the profit zone. While the makers have claimed that the film has grossed close to Rs 88 crore, independent estimates suggest that the actual collections are lower.
According to trade tracking, the film has crossed the Rs 65 crore mark, which is considered its break-even point.
With this milestone achieved, almost all buyers across different regions are now said to be in the safe zone. Any additional collections from this point will translate into profits.
The film reached break-even after its second weekend, confirming a successful theatrical run.
Strong word of mouth and steady box-office collections helped it recover its investment despite competition from other releases.
With this, Lenin joins the list of successful Telugu films of the year in terms of return on investment.
Other films on the list include Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Anaganaga Oka Raju and Maa Inti Bangaram.
The success of Lenin is also significant for its lead actors. Both Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse have delivered a much-needed hit, giving fresh momentum to their careers.
