3 Days Old Ola S1 Pro Electric Scooter Catches Fire In Karnataka, 2 People Hospitalized

Ola Electric Scooter Karnataka Fire: A brand-new Ola S1 Pro Gen2 electric scooter reportedly caught fire, leaving two people hospitalized in Adarsha Nagar area of Nelamangala in Karnataka.

As per a tweet on X by electric vehicle news posting account, handle name @futureiselectr2, the scooter caught fire on Tuesday night and was just 3 days old. The fire is also said to have damaged the nearby parked two-wheelers (images below).

 

 

The tweet by @futureiselectr2 reads: “Ola S1 Pro 2nd Gen Bought on 10th Nov 2023 battery blasted late night when parked at Adarsha Nagar, Nelamangala, Karnataka. The vehicle is completely burnt more bikes are burnt due to this incident, and 2 people are hospitalized for burn injuries.”

The tweet has raked over 25,000 views and a number of social media users have also tagged the company, adding more images from the incident site which clearly shows the intensity of the fire.

 

 

This isn’t the first case of Ola EVs catching fire in Karnataka, as several similar cases have emerged in the past.
While social media posts indicate the fire erupted due to a fault in the battery of the scooter, people representing Ola say these are “false claims.”
While the root cause of the incident remains yet in the dark, Ola Electric is yet to roll out an official statement on the matter.
