2024 Suzuki Swift ADAS Features: Here’s What to Expect for the Indian Market

The 2024 Suzuki Swift was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show earlier this year, and it boasted a range of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), giving us a glimpse into the future of automobile technology.

However, it’s important to note that Suzuki has not yet confirmed if these features will make their way to the India spec Swift. Some test models of the car seen in India were equipped with the ADAS radar cut-out, sparking some speculation.

The 2024 Suzuki Swift is fitted with dual-sensor brake support, a feature that employs a camera and a laser sensor to identify vehicles and pedestrians, thereby reducing collision risks. It achieves this by sending warnings, assisting with braking, and automatically applying brakes when necessary. This feature, if introduced in the Indian version, could significantly elevate safety levels, particularly when driving on highways.

Adaptive cruise control, another feature of the Japan spec 2024 Swift, keeps track of the car ahead and automatically maintains a secure distance by controlling the speed. The system uses sensors to regulate acceleration and deceleration, even while manoeuvring curves or shifting lanes.

The 2024 Swift also comes equipped with a driver monitoring system. A camera, integrated alongside the infotainment system, scrutinizes the driver’s facial expressions, eye movements, and gaze direction. Real-time alerts are activated in the car if the driver shows signs of fatigue or lack of attention, thereby enhancing overall safety.

The 2024 Suzuki Swift alswo comes installed with a headlight control system that enhances visibility by alternately using high and low beams. A monocular camera and millimetre wave radar work together to control the high beam range and lessen glare reflecting off the vehicle ahead.

In addition to headlight control, the 2024 Suzuki Swift also features a lane-keep function. It autonomously adjusts the steering to keep the vehicle in its lane based on driving trajectory and provides steering assistance if the risk of deviation is high.

Moreover, the car includes a road sign recognition system that alerts the driver by exhibiting detected signs on the multi-information display, ensuring immediate attention to no-entry warnings and red light alerts.

Besides these ADAS features, the 2024 Swift includes other safety support features such as a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, start notification sound, 360-degree camera system, and functions that reduce engine output at the start to prevent accidents due to gear shift errors.

DriveSpark Thinks

It’s anticipated that Maruti Suzuki will introduce the 2024 Swift in India next year. However, it’s not yet confirmed if the car will include these ADAS features. The new model will likely be priced above the current one, which starts from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and it is expected to compete with models like Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Punch.

In conclusion, the 2024 Suzuki Swift’s unveil at the Japan Mobility Show earlier this year showcased a wealth of advanced driver-assistance systems, potentially offering Indian drivers a glimpse into the future of car technology. Whether these features will make their way to the India spec Swift is yet to be seen, but the possibility certainly makes for an exciting prospect.
