1000 players out of IPL Mega Auction, now only these greats will be auctioned

It has now been decided how many and which players will be bid in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Many players from all over the world had registered their names for the mega auction to be held in Jeddah on 24th and 25th November, but like every time, more than half of the players did not even get a chance to go to the auction. The Board of Control for Cricket in India released the final list of players for the mega auction on Friday 15 November. Only 574 players have got a place in this final list. In this way, exactly 1000 players have been disappointed even before the auction.

How many Indians, how many foreigners?

This time 1574 players from all over the world had registered for the mega auction. BCCI had set a deadline of 4th November for this, where it got an overwhelming response. However, like every time, this time also after the response received by BCCI from the franchises, the board prepared a shortlist of players, in which 574 players got place. Now bidding for these 574 players will take place on 24th and 25th November. After the retention list of all 10 franchises is out, a total of 204 players’ slots are available, out of which 70 are foreigners.

According to this final shortlist, a total of 366 Indian players are participating in the auction this time, while 208 foreign players will be included. Of these, 48 are capped Indian players and 318 are uncapped. Among the foreigners, there are 193 capped, 12 uncapped and 3 players from associate countries. Whereas 81 players have kept their base price at Rs 2 crore, which is the top bracket. This time the base price of uncapped players has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.

Keep an eye on these 12 players, records will be made!

Out of these 574 players, the maximum attention will be on those 12 players with whom the auction will start. These are the marquee players, who have been divided into 2 different sets. There are 6-6 players in each set. These are those players who are in the news even before the auction. The first set includes Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh and Mitchell Starc. In the second set, there are Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingston, David Miller, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj. This means that the record of the most expensive player can be made at the beginning of the mega auction itself.

When will the auction start?

If we talk about auction, IPL is entering Saudi Arabia for the first time. Mallika Sagar, who conducted the auction last year, will take up this responsibility this time. Talking about time, the auction program will start on November 24 at 1 pm and bidding on players will start at exactly 3 pm.
